One RSVP link for the whole group chat

A shareable RSVP link is one link you post in a group chat, so people who are not on your guest list yet can add themselves by replying. It comes with RSVP on Premium and Event Bundles, and for guests already on your list there is the event-wide RSVP link.

How to share one RSVP link in a group chat

Some guest lists start as a group chat: the netball team, the cousins, the whole engineering floor. You know roughly who is in it, but not everyone's surname, let alone their dietary needs. This link gets them to tell you.

  1. Create a link

In RSVP, open Share & print and choose Shareable link. Give it a name only you will see, such as Work friends, and decide whether people can bring guests, and how many.

  2. Share it in the chat

Send it to WhatsApp from the same screen, or copy it anywhere. The first time, you are asked to confirm, because anyone who holds the link can add themselves to your list.

  3. People reply

They open the link, see your invitation and tap through to reply for themselves.

  4. They are on your guest list

Each reply appears marked "via shared link", with its own personal RSVP. Seat, export and edit them like any other guest.

Where to create a shareable RSVP link

In RSVP, under Guest List, open Share and print and choose Shareable link. Each link has a private name only you see, its own reply count, and its own choice about bringing guests.

Nobody sees who else is invited

A link in a group chat is only as private as the chat, so it shows nothing about anyone else. It opens your invitation with an RSVP button, the same page a WhatsApp invitation opens, and needs no account or app. It is not the same as your event-wide RSVP link, which only finds guests already on your list.

In the group chat

  • Their own name, and an email if they want to give one.
  • Dietary needs from your own list of options, a note to you, and the names of anyone they bring if the link allows it.
  • No names, no count of replies, no answers. Typing a colleague's name or email looks the same whether or not they are on your list.

On your guest list

  • Every reply, marked "via shared link", with its own personal RSVP.
  • Possible duplicates, flagged on your guest list where only you see them.
  • Each link's private name and how many replies it has had.

One link, and the group chat replies for itself

Make a link, paste it into any chat, and each reply joins your guest list as a guest of their own.

A link for each day of a multi-day event

Premium On an event that runs across several days or functions, choose which days each link covers (every day, unless you untick some). People who reply are invited to those days only and answer yes or no for each.

The mehendi group chat gets a link for the mehendi and the reception crowd one for the reception. A conference could split a workshop day from the dinner. See how multi-day events work.

Limits of a shareable RSVP link

  • It cannot stop a link being forwarded

Anyone who holds it can reply, so share it with a group you trust, not on a public page or social media. If it travels further than you meant, revoke it.

  • It does not check who someone is

A reply is whoever typed it. The "via shared link" badge and the possible duplicate flag help you spot anything odd, and you can remove a guest at any time.

  • You cannot seat someone before they reply

People are not on your list until they answer. If you know who is coming, add them yourself and send them their own link.

  • It is not for guests already on your list

They have a personal RSVP already, as on a wedding RSVP website. Send it on WhatsApp or by email, or put an RSVP QR code on their printed invitation.

Shareable RSVP link questions

No. The link never shows anyone else's name, whether they have replied or what they said, even if someone types another guest's name or email into the form.

No, email is optional. With one, they get a confirmation with a link to their own RSVP and can change their answer from any device. Without one, they can change it from the same browser for 90 days.

If they use an email that already belongs to a guest, no second reply is saved and that inbox is sent its own RSVP link. A second reply under the same name without a matching email is saved and flagged to you as a possible duplicate.

If you allow it on that link, whatever your event-wide plus-one setting is. You choose how many guests each person can bring, and they name each one, with dietary needs.

Yes. Make one per group, each with its own private name and plus-one setting, and see how many replies each has had.

Revoke it. It stops working straight away, and everyone who already replied stays on your guest list.

If you lock replies on your deadline, yes. The link stops taking replies entirely on that date.

Shareable links are part of RSVP on Premium and Event Bundles, both with unlimited guests.
